Open to members aged 60 and over and there is a small fee to cover the administrative costs of this section of the club.

There are monthly medals which are usually qualifying competitions for SGU handicapping purposes but most of the competitions make use of unofficial “senior handicaps”, designed to ensure that frequent winners have their handicaps severely cut so that everyone has a chance to win at some point in the year.

There is a ballot each week before the competition starts so that all members have an opportunity to mix with one another and there are regular visits to other South Ayrshire courses such as Belleisle, Seafield and Girvan and an annual outing to Arran.

The  Senior’s team competes in a small friendly league with other clubs in the area as far afield as West Kilbride
